Roger Marsham (3919)

3919 Roger John Marsham 1949-52 Came from St Austell in Cornwall and after Mercury went to sea as an Apprentice with the Elder Dempster Line trading mostly to West Africa.  After passing for Master Roger went on to have a long career with the governments of Hong Kong and Canada at first in marine transportation administration and then with a number of senior executive positions. His last appointment was as Canadian Consul General in Buffalo, New York from 2001 to 2005. In retirement he and his wife Barbara travelled extensively including a number of sojourns in New Zealand and the excitement of going through a big earthquake in Chile in 2010. He died in January 2019 at Ottawa in Canada where he had lived for many years.
